My name is Judea Villanueva.

In 2020, I stepped off a plane into Canada with a suitcase, a dream, and a responsibility much bigger than myself.

Starting over in a new country isn’t just about finding a job. It’s about rebuilding your income. Your identity. Your sense of security. It’s about proving to yourself—and to everyone back home—that the sacrifice was worth it.

But my journey with responsibility started long before I immigrated.

At 16 years old, while most teenagers were focused on school and friends, I was already sending money back home. I learned early that income isn’t just a number on a paycheck. It’s protection.
